Duke Law School offered more than 15 courses on climate change and law in 2023-24, including Climate Change Law, Climate Change and Financial Markets, International Environmental Law, Environmental Litigation, Environmental Law, and Energy Law. Students also gained hands-on, real-world experience in the Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, representing clients at public hearings and engaging in litigation, transactional cases, and policy development.
Outside the classroom, students participate in climate initiatives. Led by Law faculty member Michelle Nowlin and staff scientist Nancy Lauer, students partnered with the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to reduce single-use plastics in the state-run zoo, aquaria and museums.
