Masters-level students from a variety of schools and disciplines gathered for the inaugural Masters Impact Challenge in January 2024, a weekend-long, hackathon-style retreat aimed at developing creative, sustainable innovations for real-world challenges.

The Masters Impact Challenge, sponsored by the Office of the President, with collaboration from Sustainable Duke, Student Affairs, and the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies, was organized by 2022-23 Presidential Fellow Adrienne Stiff-Roberts, Jeffrey N. Vinik Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Associate Dean for Community Based Innovation in the Pratt School of Engineering.
