The Duke Center on Risk, in collaboration with Duke’s Risk Science for Climate Resilience (RESILE), held a one-and-a-half-day workshop in April 2024 focused on “International Monitoring for Solar Radiation Modification (SRM)” to understand 1) early detection, 2) adaptive management of deployment processes, and 3) understanding SRM’s climatic and environmental impacts. Co-organized by Mark Borsuk, Jonathan Wiener, and Tyler Felgenhauer, the event brought together over 25 experts in climate science, environmental governance, law, economics, and more to discuss SRM’s governance and monitoring needs.
