Duke University hosted the second annual “From Billions to Trillions” summit on April 9, 2025, sparking productive conversations about how to catalyze trillions of dollars in private capital for climate solutions. A slate of speakers from finance, international development, energy, technology and government joined Duke faculty on stage to unpack climate finance challenges and explore potential events. More than 500 attendees sat in on provocative discussions about mobilizing investment to decarbonize the global economy and increase climate resilience while helping everyone share in economic and technological gains. Registration at this year’s summit surpassed last year’s summit, attracting professionals from a variety of sectors across the region and nation, as well as students, faculty, and staff from Duke and peer institutions. The event reached 840 registrants, including 360 professionals, 267 students and 213 Duke faculty and staff. The summit was organized by faculty at the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainability, Fuqua School of Business, Sanford School of Public Policy, and Nicholas School of the Environment.
