To develop a more holistic sense of how best to evaluate Duke students’ climate and sustainability learning across different disciplines and schools, leadership from the Office of Climate and Sustainability has recently begun a collaboration with the Program Evaluation and Education Research (PEER) group at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at North Carolina State University. The purpose of this work is to create an evaluation plan to be carried out by the PEER group using test cases of climate and sustainability fluency for three of Duke’s ten schools, tailored to the distinct learning that occurs within those three schools and how the curricula of those schools relates to climate and sustainability. This work is early in its development; more updates will be forthcoming at a later date.
