From May 19-21, 2024, the Duke Office of Climate and Sustainability hosted “All In: Higher Education, Interdisciplinarity, and Our Collective Climate Challenge.” This symposium brought together 70 climate educators and administrators from over 20 higher education institutions – primarily from across the state of North Carolina – for conversations and activity around infusing climate and sustainability topics into educational programming across a variety of disciplines. Working groups of attendees focused on tangible plans around five topics:
- Community-engaged climate collaboration
- Turnkey resources to facilitate infusion of climate and sustainability topics across the curriculum
- Campus as a living classroom for experiential climate and sustainability education
- The intersection of climate, sustainability, and racial and social equity education
- Green workforce development
